چکیده
Abstract The adaptive comfort model was mainly developed for naturally ventilated buildings, but few recent studies explore its applicability in mixed-mode buildings. present study uses the thermal (EN15251) a dynamic simulation (EnergyPlus) parametric analysis of apartment, an attempt to determine energy savings. Two models were created. first one makes full use mechanical heating and cooling systems when required temperature is not reached. second adopts hybrid approach, resembling existing operation residential buildings Greece. primary regulator indoor conditions occupant through his/her interaction with building shell only this effective are activated. internal gains both determined based on detailed recording real typical apartment. Many design parameters (window size, insulation position thickness, orientation, airtightness, glazing properties shading) along different behavioural patterns (derived from questionnaire campaign) have been examined sensitivity analysis. Machine learning algorithms, such as Random Forest, also incorporated identify most important parameters. Results indicate that behaviour shading consumption cooling, while window size total consumption.

Integrated Modeling to Predict Occupant Thermal Comfort
The two primary functions of a vehicle climate control system are safety through de-icing and de-fogging windows, and occupant thermal comfort. However, vehicle air-conditioning systems can significantly impact fuel economy and tailpipe emissions of conventional and hybrid electric vehicles (HEVs) and reduce electric vehicle (EV) range. In order to meet the new U. S. Supplemental Federal Test P...
متن کاملIlluminating Adaptive Comfort: Dynamic Lighting for the Active Occupant
This paper makes the assertion that established concepts from thermal comfort research might be used to develop an adaptive comfort model for lighting. By gathering data from a live office environment, we demonstrate the necessity of dynamically-adapted lighting levels in order to achieve both comfort and energy savings. We detail the background and the experimental setup that is used to extrac...
متن کاملEcosystem Biomimicry: A way to achieve thermal comfort in architecture
The strategies to reduce the consumption of non-renewable energies in buildings are becoming increasingly important. In the meantime, nature-inspired approaches have emerged as a new strategy to achieve thermal comfort in the interiors. However, the use of these approaches in architecture and buildings requires a proper understanding regarding the features of ecosystems. Although acquiring this...

This case study investigated office occupant thermal comfort in Lawrence Hall. More specifically, it focused on the winter heating season thermal comfort in these office spaces. In a building that is composed of approximately seven major additions and/or renovations spanning nearly a century, the variety of heating and ventilation systems varies greatly. The combination of qualitative and quant...
متن کاملModel-adaptive Analysis of Indoor Thermal Comfort
We address the model-adaptive coupling between computational codes for indoor thermal comfort analysis considering different levels of detail in space and time. Starting with a whole-year simulation, significant periods are interactively identified in terms of a coarse thermal comfort analysis. After refining these critical intervals with respect to the spatial resolution, a multi-segment manik...
